My pre-departure beverage flying LAX-NRT on Singapore Airlines in First Class was Dom Perignon 1998. I wish the USA based carriers would use glassware pre-departure (and in the case of US Airways, that they use glasses at all during flight). It's a different experience drinking out of glass vs. plastic. But back to the champagne... I prefer the complexity of the Krug Grande Cuvee over the Dom and switched to it shortly after takeoff.
Here are some pictures from my recent visit to the brand new Singapore Airlines Silver Kris Business Class Lounge in the new Terminal 3 at Singapore Changi Airport. This is now my favorite Star Alliance Business Class lounge.
You don't have to be flying Singapore Airlines to use this lounge. To access this lounge, you must be departing on a Star Alliance flight and be flying in Business or First class (but if you are flying in First Class you should use the First Class side of the lounge). I was flying Thai Business Class and used my Thai boarding pass to gain access to the lounge.
