I wouldn't mind paying for a pillow and blanket as long as the were clean. Some of those AA red fleece blankets that are reused for who knows how many days are just plain nasty.

Sheila, you bring up an interesting issue. As the airlines move towards fees and surcharges for things that were at one time free, they are going to create higher expectations for themselves.
People are more forgiving when things are "free" but if they are paying for them they will likely expect them to be of good quality and delivered on-time.

Personally, I would expect more. If I'm paying for the use of a pillow and blanket, I will expect something fresh and clean. What about you? Would you pay $3 for the use of a dirty blanket?

No - I would not. It better be either new or freshly washed and sealed if I am paying for it.

Will they dare offer an unbagged blanket or pillow for $5 per?
