Andrew Miller

I do a lot of business travel myself and generally travel with at least one other traveler, I felt that the business class setup looked a little solitary, its nice to chat to someone on long haul international flights.

The Flying Critic

First class, which is the first cabin shown on the video is indeed quite solitary - which these days is the norm for most first class seats.

The second cabin shown (that is briefly shown downstairs first and then upstairs) is the business class cabin.

From what I've heard from people who have flown the new business class seats - there really isn't any big problems chatting with the person sitting next to you in the business class cabin. It is more difficult to chat with people in front or behind you though.

If anything, you are too close to too many people downstairs on the 747 in business class with this new configuration, as it is 2-4-2. With the old business class "recliner" seats the config was 2-3-2, so they are squeezing in an extra seat in the same amount of space.

In fact, there is a real lack of storage space in these new business class seats because of the tight fit. But the seats go fully flat and that is what most people want.

The upper deck in business class is certainly the way to go with its 2-2 config - although expect those seats to fill up really fast.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
